I need to know how many Mitsubishi drivers in Winnipeg I can get to start showing up to events, Sunday Night cruises and Wednesday Night Coffee meets. I would like to start by having 1 major event or cruise at least once every 4 to 8 weeks.

This could be anything from a Cruise to Kenora grabbing some pizza and icecream there and taking some group pics of cars and people with the lake as a back drop or simply getting out for a night at the Clubs or bowling etc.. Mix this up with co ordinating events with other car clubs. Winnipeg Sports Car Club etc.. I would like to start an annual paintball outing and I am sure most of you have some great Ideas too!

So post here and also mention if there are other people you know who also drive a Mitsu.

My name is Jack and I have an 09 Ralli Art.

OJIBWE FORESTS RALLY DETAILS!
(4pm and 6pm to Midnight+!)
(August 20-21, 2010)
(Bemidji, MN)

1) The organisers have reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in Bemidji. The hotel may act like they are full when you call (218-751-2487), so you must ask for the Ojibwe Forest Rally rate and they'll suddenly have rooms available...unless they are indeed full. Other options are listed at http://www.ojibweforestrally.com/lodging.php

2) If you have access to a ham radio scanner, DEFINITELY bring it with you and/or purchase one prior to the event. Although you can do without one, you will miss-out on all of the action taking place throughout the event with all rallies run via ham radio communications. You'll get to hear everything going on while you're waiting in the forest for the cars to speed by (or while driving to/from the forest)...crashes, mechanical failures, rowdy spectactors, etc.

3) Although it will most likely change prior to the start, print off a copy of the preliminary start order at http://rally-america.com/events/2010...ts/startorder/ so you know who's who, as the organisers don't typically provide that on-site, as well as the following documents:

http://www.ojibweforestrally.com/doc...al_College.pdf

http://www.ojibweforestrally.com/doc...lySchedule.pdf

4) Pretend that you are going camping in the woods for the day/night and come fully prepared with lots of gear...boots, flashlights, drinks/food, bugspray, area maps, gps, etc.

5) For anyone that did attend the event in years past (or heard of what it is like), please keep in mind that this is the 1st year that it is no longer a national. As a result, there will be no big names/teams on-hand and there will only be a field of 25 cars or so, and perhaps very little crashing going on. NEVERTHELESS, this regional event is a PERFECT opportunity to get your first (or next) rally experience. On that note, if you’ve never had the opportunity to experience/witness a rally first hand, now’s your chance...there is no other rally in the year that is this close to Winnipeg, it has received the "Rally of the Year" award numerous times in its 24-year history, and the roads among the four state forests that comprise the Ojibwe Forests Rally are considered some the best rally roads on the continent. As thrilling as it is to watch the daytime stages, there is nothing like a rallycar roaring towards your location, in the dead of night, in the middle of the forest...brakes and tailpipe aglow. It is an experience that you will remember for years to come...who knows, maybe you too will get hooked like the rest of us!

6) For anyone that would really like to see the action up close, as opposed to being limited to the crowd controlled spectator areas, I highly suggest volunteering as a Course Marshall as you'll be guaranteed a number of stage-side locations to call your very own and have the chance to drive the actual rally roads yourself. For those that can get away, working with the bannering crews on Thursday and Friday morning is highly recommended as well, and for those that can stick around, de-bannering crews head out to the battlefield again on Sunday at 10am and are typically done by 3pm. The Manitoba crew will be helping-out with the de-bannering effort as well, as it’s very interesting to see the carnage left behind…annihilated trees and vehicle parts are usually abundant. The worker sign-up page is available at http://www.ojibweforestrally.com/workers.php ...work as little or as much as you’d like.
